Franz Schubert’s skill in melody-making expressed itself  in a plethora of ground-breaking lieder compositions. Of equal significance is his piano output which includes many pieces in solo and duet form – sonatas, fantasias, marches, variations. Despite poor health and lack of recognition, or maybe because of it, his music reaches into the depths of his being, and can be felt by all who hear it to this day.
